The district of Sargodha is famous for its citrus fruits including oranges, lemon and Kinnow. Its city is also famous as the city of Shaheen (Shaheeno ka Shehr) due to its Pakistan’s largest Airbase, PAF Base Mushaf of Pakistan Air Force. It is the administrative centre of Sargodha Division located in the Punjab Province. Sargodha Division includes the districts of Bhakkar, Khushab, Mianwali and Sargodha in its jurisdiction. It is one the most fastest growing cities in the Punjab. Due to its strategic position, The British Royal Air Force built an airport in the city of Sargodha in British Raj, although it was a small town at that time. Now it has a largest Airbase and hosts the headquarters of Pak Air Force’s Central Air Command.
In the field of Education, it has been playing a big role in educating and training the young generation of Pakistan so that they can face the challenges of new millennium. It has many educational institutes on its credit and imparting the best quality education to its youth. A Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Sargodha is also functioning in the territory of Sargodha Division which covers the exams of Intermediate and Matriculation for the region of Sargodha Division and its jurisdiction including the districts of Bhakkar, Khushab, Mianwali and Sargodha. It is an autonomous examining body which make rules and regulations for exams and set syllabus and curriculum for the intermediate and secondary classes. It affords all its expenses by itself by collecting fee and does not depend on any aid and grant from any governing body. BISE, Sargodha was created in 1968 under the West Pakistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance No.VII of 1968. Initially the Divisions of Rawalpindi and Faisalabad were also included in the supervision of Sargodha Board. Later, two separate Boards were established BISE, Rawalpindi in 1978 and Faisalabad in 1988. Now the BISE, Sargodha has been confined to the districts of Bhakkar, Mianwali, Khushab and Sargodha.

The wait for result of Matric exams under BISE, Sargodha has to be end as The Board has announced the date of declaration of Annual Result 2019. As like always this year too, the Board has decided to announce the result of Matric exams Part-II (Class 10th) in the month of August-2019 and for Part-I (Class 9th) result will be announced in the month of September 2019. It holds supplementary exams after 6 to 7 weeks after declaring annual result. While result for supplementary exams is announced in the month of November/December.
Admission for annual exams of Class 9th and 10th start in the month of November. The Board takes exams together with private and regular candidates. Exams commences from the first week of March and lasted for the month of April. Roll number slips and date sheets are issued and dispatched 15 days before the commencement of exams at the provided addresses by the candidates. Regular students get their roll number slips and date sheets from their schools and colleges in which they are registered. Besides conducting of Matric, Intermediate and other exams assigned by the governing body, the Board has many other tasks and responsibilities given below.
