Dera Ghazi Khan known as DG Khan is one of the 9 divisions of Punjab province, Pakistan. It is the capital city of DG Khan District and the administrative center of DG Khan Division. The foundation of city was laid down in the end of 15th century and was named after the name of Ghazi Khan Mirani. DG Khan Division is comprised of Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Rajanpur and DG Khan Districts. DG khan has a famous hill station Fort Munro in the Sulaiman mountain range which has a cool weather in the summer season. Many people come here for short stays in the hot summer. In winter season, snow falls is also reported in this area.

There are many educational institutes in DG Khan including College of Agriculture DG Khan Sub-Campus, The College of Education, The Government Post Graduate College, Ghazi Khan Medical College, Government Institute of Technology, Ghazi University and The Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, DG Khan. Besides these there are many public and private schools and colleges operating under BISE, DG Khan. A Campus of Allama Iqbal University and a campus of Virtual University are also functional in the city of DG Khan.

Schools and Colleges located in the division of DG Khan are under the supervision of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, DG Khan. The BISE, DG Khan was established on January 4, 1989. Before its creation, the DG Khan division was under the supervision BISE Multan. All the SSC and HSSC exams were organized by the BISE Multan. But keeping in view the population of this area, it was decided to create a separate examining board for Secondary School and Higher Secondary Schools exams. BISE, DG Khan was established under the West Pakistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance, 1989 out of Multan Board but now it is being governed under Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976.

At the time of its foundation, its camp office was established in Multan and after training the staff, it was shifted to DG Khan headquarter. Now the Board has responsibility to conduct the exams for SSC and HSSC certificates for the region of DG Khan, Layyah, Muzzaffargarh and Rajanpur Districts. BISE DG Khan is an autonomous examining body under the control of Government of Punjab. It bears all its expenses with the collection of examining and other fee and does not depend on any governing body for its financial aid and grant. The Board is the authority to make rules and setting the syllabus and courses.

The Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE), DG Khan believes in the smooth and transparent examination system. Not only it conducts the exams on time but also prepares and announces the result on its issued schedules. This year Board has announced to declare the result of Matriculation exams Part-II (Class 10th) in the month of July/August and for Part-I (Class 9th) in the month of September. As soon as the Board announces the result officially, we will publish it on this page of our website. Visitors and students are advised to keep in touch with us by visiting our website. And to keep remember when the result is declared soon after the Board advertises admission for supplementary exams of matric students and after 6 to 7 weeks exams are held. While result for Supplementary exams is announced in the month of November.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, DG Khan makes advertisement for the admission of Matriculation Exams in the month of November for both the regular and private candidates. Exams starts in the first week of March. Roll number slips and date sheet can be downloaded from the official website of the Board and from our website. The Board also dispatches roll number slips and date sheets to the postal addresses provided by the candidates.

The Board has clear strategy to conduct the exams of SSC, HSSC and other exams in the transparent and crystal clear manners on set time period and schedule. In order to conduct all the activities smoothly, the Board has formed different branches and committees. The basic tasks and responsibilities which are performed at the Board are given below.

  • It holds and conducts the exams for SSC, HSSC, Pakistani & Classical Languages and other exams assigned by the government.
  • It has authority to refuse/withdraw and affiliate the public and private educational institutions.
  • It grants passing certificates and diplomas to its successful candidates.
  • It issues NOC/Migration certificates.
  • It issues duplicate NOC (No Objection Certificate)/Migration Certificate, Registration Card, Result Card/Degrees etc…
  • It facilitates its candidates to make correction in name, father name etc…
  • It facilitates to recheck the answer sheets.
  • It has authority to prescribe the examination and registration fee.
  • It conducts result declaration ceremony and grants awards and prizes to the position holders.
  • It grants scholarships to the needy and talented students.
  • It promotes curricular and extra-curricular activities at school and college level.
  • It has authority to hire staff and employees for its exams and management functions.
